FleetCor Appoints New Global General Counsel
Atlanta, U.S.A. – April 24, 2008 –
FleetCor, the Global Fleet Card Company, announced today the appointment of former IBM executive Sean Bowen to the newly created position of Senior
Vice President, General Counsel. In this role, Bowen will have global responsibility for all legal matters company-wide.
“FleetCor has nearly doubled its business in the last two years, and more than a third of our business is now outside the U.S., primarily
in Europe,” said Ron Clarke, Chairman and CEO of FleetCor. “Bringing senior legal counsel in-house was a logical move at this point in the company’s evolution.”
Bowen served as Divisional General Counsel for IBM’s Internet Security Systems Division. Sean served as General Counsel for Internet Security Systems for
7 years, a Nasdaq-traded network security firm operating in 27 countries. ISS was sold to IBM in 2006 for $1.3B. Prior to joining ISS, Bowen was a Senior
Counsel with Eastman Chemical and before that a partner in a Cleveland, U.S.A. law firm.
“I am absolutely delighted to be joining FleetCor,” said Bowen. “FleetCor has an impressive track record of growth and profitability, and
I expect to be able to make significant contributions to future performance.”
Bowen will be based in FleetCor’s corporate headquarters in Atlanta and will report to FleetCor Chairman and CEO, Ron Clarke.
